The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has humorously responded to a social media user who mistakenly—or playfully—listed the agency’s Abuja headquarters as a hotel for sale.
On X, a Nigerian user with the handle @osere_x posted a listing describing the EFCC’s property as a “hotel” in Abuja, priced at N800 million with an additional N120 million agent fee. The post read:
“HOTEL AVAILABLE. Location: Abuja. Price – 800M. Agent fee – 120M. Only serious buyers should DM.”

As of 9 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, the post had gone viral, garnering over 6,000 likes, 508 comments, 863 reposts, and 433,000 views.
The EFCC, engaging through its verified X account, replied with a witty comment:
“Hmmm…. You get mind ooo.”
The phrase loosely translates from Pidgin English as: “You do have guts,” and sparked thousands of reactions online.
The original poster responded in kind, writing in Pidgin:
“Na una building? I even think say na KFC,” jokingly suggesting he thought the building was a Kentucky Fried Chicken outlet.
The exchange quickly became a trending conversation on the platform, delighting users with its humor and lighthearted tone.
