The Senate has constituted a 12-member committee to collaborate with the House of Representatives on the Electoral Amendment Act, following growing public debate surrounding the proposed changes.
President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, announced the composition of the committee during an emergency plenary session on Tuesday.
The panel includes prominent lawmakers such as Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and Senator Tahir Mungono, among others, and is expected to work jointly with their counterparts in the House to reconcile differences and advance the amendment process.
