Troops of the Joint Task Force (JTF) North East, operating under Operation Hadin Kai, have arrested two suspected Boko Haram logistics suppliers in Yobe State.
Security sources said the suspects were apprehended at about 12:00 p.m. on February 15 during a snap checkpoint operation by troops of the 233 Tank Battalion at Rabangida in the Dapchi–Geidam area.
The suspects were identified as Goni Abba, 30, and Ali Bukar, 30, both from Areyanari village in Yunusari Local Government Area.
Authorities recovered ₦33,150 in cash, an Android phone, and a blue tricycle (registration TMW-426WB) loaded with assorted foodstuffs and household supplies believed to be intended for insurgents.
Items included bags of sugar, flour, rice, cartons of beverages, soaps, detergents, spaghetti, macaroni, cooking oil, sweets, matches, and other consumables.
Troops conducted further combing of the surrounding area but made no additional arrests.
The suspects and recovered items are now in military custody for profiling and further investigation.
The military high command stated that operations will continue across the theatre to disrupt insurgents’ logistics networks and deny them freedom of movement.
