Female victim, Adamawa

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, working with local vigilantes and the Civilian Joint Task Force, have neutralised a suspected Boko Haram fighter and recovered logistics items during an ambush in Adamawa State.

Security sources said the operation took place at about 12:50 a.m. on Thursday at the deserted village of Gwadale along the Ngoshe–Kirawa road, where troops intercepted suspected insurgents transporting supplies.

According to the sources, soldiers opened fire, killing one suspected fighter while others fled the scene, reportedly with possible gunshot wounds.

After the engagement, troops searched the area and recovered items believed to be meant for insurgent logistics, including a carton of detergent and a bag of salt.

The personnel later returned to their forward operating base in Pulka at about 2:30 a.m.

Officials said the operation highlights continued efforts by security forces to disrupt the supply chain of Boko Haram and improve security across affected communities in the North-East.
