The Bauchi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared that Governor Bala Mohammed is no longer a member of the party.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Bauchi State PDP Caretaker Committee Chairman, Jungudo Mohammed, on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

This follows a viral video in which the governor claimed PDP membership while breaking Ramadan fast with supporters at the Government House in Bauchi.

The committee, however, described the governor’s claim as misleading, noting that it contradicts the party’s official position.

The committee said it relied on the 103rd and 104th resolutions of the party’s National Executive Committee, which, it stated, formally expelled Mohammed alongside other party members, including Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and his Zamfara State counterpart, Dauda Lawal, over actions considered inconsistent with the PDP constitution.

It stressed that the status of the Bauchi governor within the party remains unchanged and cannot be altered through public statements, media engagements, or informal interactions.

The committee further stated that if Mohammed genuinely wishes to remain in the PDP, he should demonstrate commitment to reconciliation with stakeholders he had earlier confronted, particularly the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

It added: “Beyond these distractions, we expected the governor to address the pressing concerns of governance in Bauchi State, especially the alarming rise in insecurity, particularly in his Local Government Area.

“Members of PDP in the state as well as other relevant stakeholders, are hereby advised to treat the statement credited to Governor Bala Mohammed with utmost caution and to continue with their support for the PDP Bauchi State Caretaker Committee.”
