Iranian state-affiliated media reported on Sunday that the daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, were killed in the recent U.S.–Israeli strikes.
According to the Fars News Agency, the deaths were confirmed after contact was established with sources within the Supreme Leader’s household.
“After establishing contact with informed sources in the Supreme Leader’s household, the news of the martyrdom of the daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter of the Revolutionary Leader has unfortunately been confirmed,” the agency reported.
There has been no immediate independent verification of the claim.
The reported deaths come amid escalating hostilities between Iran, the United States and Israel following coordinated military strikes targeting Iranian facilities.
