Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have dismantled a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory hidden in Isiozi Obiato, Umuaka, in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State.

The operation, carried out on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, led to the recovery of 18.4 kilograms of methamphetamine, alongside a large cache of precursor chemicals and production equipment used in manufacturing the illicit substance.

According to the agency, the discovery marks a significant breakthrough in its sustained crackdown on local drug production networks. The laboratory was reportedly tucked away within the rural community in a bid to evade detection.
