Three persons have been confirmed dead, while six others were injured in an accident involving six vehicles at the toll-gate area of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway in Ogun State.
The Ota Divisional Commander of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Salau Hammed, confirmed the incident on Friday, March 6, 2026.
Hammed said the accident, which involved 15 persons and six vehicles, occurred at about 2:15 p.m. on Friday.
He said an eyewitness reported that a Howo truck travelling on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway lost control due to brake failure and rammed into other vehicles.
“The truck killed three people, comprising a man, a woman, and a female toddler, while six others (three males and three females), sustained injuries,” Hammed said.
He added that the victims were attempting to board a bus when the incident occurred.

Hammed added that the vehicles involved had been towed off the road to restore the free flow of traffic.
It would be recalled that truck, on February 17, suffered brake failure at the same toll-gate area, killing six persons and injuring three others.
