The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has called on his supporters in Plateau State who are aggrieved with Governor Caleb Mutfwang to drop such animosity.

The APC chairman said he and the governor were firmly in the same camp working in the interest of Plateau State.

Speaking at the COCIN Church Headquarters over the weekend, Yilwatda affirmed that he never at any time had a personal beef with the governor, saying their past issues were solely because of membership of different political camps.

Yilwatda also sought prayers as he runs what he described as the biggest political party in Africa.

The APC chairman said: “I want to also thank God for two reasons. We’ve united with my brother (Governor Caleb Mutfwang) in the same party, and we will provide the best we can and, by the grace of God and with your support, we will ensure that Plateau actually gets what it deserves at the national level and state level.

“We never had any personal problem and we never had any personal grudges. What we had was a political difference. We’ve closed those gaps, and we’re working together to ensure that we provide peace for our people, provide development for our people, and provide support for our people at any needed time.

“He’s aware I’m here, and I’m also aware of where he is. So we have a strong partnership. So I’m calling upon anybody who is hearing my voice: If you have any political difference with Mutfwang because of me or for any reason, please let bygones be bygones and let peace reign supreme in our state.”

He continued: “Lastly, I thank you also for your prayers. I’m holding and running the biggest party ever in the history of Nigeria, and every day people are streaming into the party, and we are running our own congresses.

“We are having the most peaceful congress ever in the history of our party. This is not my strength, it is not my wisdom, but it is the grace of God and the prayers of people like you, who daily pray for me, for grace and wisdom to run the party and to also manage the country effectively.

The declaration followed the recent endorsement of Mutfwang for a second term by Yilwatda at the governor’s defection to the APC.
