Residents of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Friday received mobile alerts warning them of a potential missile threat and urging them to seek shelter.
The alert advised residents to immediately seek a safe place in the nearest secure building and stay away from windows, doors, and open areas.
The UAE Ministry of Interior, in a post on X, said air defence systems were responding to a missile threat and urged the public to remain in safe locations and follow warnings and updates.

“Air defense systems are currently dealing with a missile threat. Please remain in a safe place and follow warnings and updates on the official channels,” the ministry stated.
Earlier on Friday, the Dubai Media Office said on X that debris from a successful interception during another wave of attacks in the early hours caused minor damage to the facade of a building in central Dubai, with no injuries reported.
