Gunmen have abducted the Secretary of Kibiya Local Government Area of Kano State, Hamza Durya.
The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, confirmed the incident on Saturday, March 21, 2026.
Bakori said the command’s anti-kidnapping squad, the area commander, and DPO have been fully mobilised to rescue the victim.

He said the victim was abducted at his residence in Durya village of Kibiya Local Government Area, adding that all hands are on deck to rescue him safely from the gunmen.
The police commissioner appealed to residents, especially rural dwellers, to volunteer credible information to aid deployment for the rescue operation.
