Troops of the 25 Brigade stationed at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Azir in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State have rescued two teenage boys who reportedly escaped from a suspected terrorist camp in Dusula.
The incident occurred at about 10:00 a.m. on April 1, when the village head of Azir alerted troops after the minors arrived in the community under suspicious circumstances.
Soldiers quickly mobilised to the area and took the boys into custody before moving them to the FOB for questioning.
The teenagers were identified as 15-year-old Abuna Yammadu Kala and 10-year-old Abulkaka Yammadu Kala.
During preliminary interrogation, the boys reportedly revealed that they had fled from a suspected terrorist camp in Dusula, citing harsh living conditions and fear for their safety.
The military source added that the minors have been transferred for proper profiling and further necessary action.
