A man was rescued on Wednesday after reportedly entering the Lagos Lagoon moments after stopping his vehicle on a bridge in Lagos.
Eyewitnesses said the situation could have turned tragic, but the swift response of local fishermen in the area helped save him from the water.
A video capturing the rescue surfaced online and was shared on Instagram by social commentator Isaac Fayose, who expressed concern over the incident and called on Nigerians to pay closer attention to the emotional wellbeing of people around them.
“Please, check on your family and friends. This just happened today. Who knows what went wrong,” Fayose wrote in the post.
As of the time of filing this report, the man’s identity had yet to be confirmed, while the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unknown.
