The management of Confluence University of Science and Technology has expelled four students and rusticated another over alleged offences including lesbianism, physical assault, and cyber-related misconduct.
The disciplinary actions followed investigations conducted by the institution’s Students’ Disciplinary Committee, with the recommendations approved during the university’s 30th Regular Senate Meeting held on April 29, 2026.
According to letters signed by the Deputy Registrar, Academic Affairs, Mr Eli Usman Gbadafu, two female students — Ezekiel Precious Omeneke, a 200-level Economics student, and Aku Joy Chinyere, a 200-level Accounting student — were expelled over alleged involvement in lesbianism.
The university also expelled Musa Abdulhakeem Onimisi, a 200-level Petroleum and Gas Engineering student, over allegations of physical assault and stabbing of another student.
Similarly, Dominion Kolade A., a 200-level Physiotherapy student, was expelled for allegedly cloning and circulating photographs of two female students without their consent.
In a separate disciplinary action, Agbakaru Kosikochukwu, a 200-level Radiography student, was rusticated for one academic session over fighting and physical assault.
The university management said the sanctions were part of efforts to maintain discipline, uphold moral standards, and ensure a safe learning environment within the institution.
Vice-Chancellor of the university, Abdulrahman Salawu, commended members of the disciplinary committee for conducting what he described as a thorough and fair investigation.
He reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to producing graduates known not only for academic excellence but also for discipline and good character.
The management also warned students against engaging in activities capable of damaging their academic future and reputation, stressing that the institution would continue to enforce its rules and regulations strictly.
