The Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, to 75 years imprisonment after finding him guilty on 12 counts bordering on fraud and money laundering.

Justice James Omotosho delivered the judgment on Wednesday following Mamman’s prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over the alleged diversion of N33.8 billion.

The court convicted the former minister on all the charges filed against him by the anti-graft agency.

Justice Omotosho ordered that the prison terms run consecutively, meaning Mamman is expected to serve the full 75-year sentence.

The court also ruled that there would be no option of fine on most of the counts, except for one count where the former minister was given the option of a N10 million fine.
