The Kano State chairperson of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) and chairman of Tudunwada Local Government Area, Sa’adatu Yusha’u Soja, has escaped an attack by suspected thugs.
The incident occurred shortly after she attended a political meeting in Kano held to affirm the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Kano South.
Eyewitnesses said the attack happened as she was leaving the venue, when a group of hoodlums allegedly targeted her convoy.
The assailants reportedly damaged the vehicle conveying her, causing panic among attendees and security personnel at the scene.
Despite the disruption, Soja was safely evacuated from the area by security operatives and was not injured.
Sources said the attackers acted swiftly before security could fully respond, while the motive for the attack remains unclear.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from the Kano State Government or the APC. Security agencies have also yet to confirm any arrests, although investigations are expected to uncover those behind the incident.
