The Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, has dismissed viral claims alleging that the President has converted from Islam, describing the reports as false and misleading.
Olusegun made the clarification in a statement posted on X on Thursday, urging the public to ignore the circulating video suggesting a change in the President’s religious faith.
“Please disregard the video circulating claiming PBAT has converted. It is a lie,” he wrote.
He explained that President Tinubu has consistently practised Islam while also showing support for his wife’s Christian faith.
According to him, the President’s household reflects interfaith harmony rather than any form of religious conversion or disagreement.

“President Tinubu has always been a Muslim, while proudly supporting his wife, who is a Pastor. This unique interfaith harmony in his own home is what he brings to national leadership, which is unity and not conversion,” Olusegun added.
The clarification follows the spread of a viral video on social media that sparked speculation about the President’s religious identity.
