A resident of Sabuwar Mandawari in Kano State, Ya Sayyadi Danbaba, has named his newborn son Ahmad Bola Tinubu in honour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the gesture reflects his admiration for the President’s leadership and contributions to national development.
Danbaba told journalists that the decision was a personal expression of respect and appreciation for what he described as Tinubu’s commitment to improving the welfare of Nigerians.
According to him, “I named my son Ahmad Bola Tinubu as a mark of respect, admiration and love for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“His commitment to Nigeria’s development and the welfare of its citizens has greatly inspired me.
“This is my own way of appreciating his service to the nation.”
He disclosed that the child’s naming ceremony is scheduled for next Thursday, adding that relatives, friends, neighbours and members of the public have been invited to attend the event.
Danbaba also prayed for the country, expressing hope for continued peace, unity and progress across Nigeria.
“I pray that Almighty Allah continues to bless Nigeria with peace, security and unity.
“May our nation experience sustainable development and greater prosperity for all citizens,” he added.
Naming children after prominent political leaders is a recurring cultural practice in parts of Nigeria, often driven by admiration or recognition of their perceived impact on society.
