Two students have been arrested in connection with the death of a 300-level Biochemistry student of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba in Kogi State.
The PAAU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Salisu Usman, disclosed the arrest of the students during a condolence visit to the family of the deceased in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State, on Saturday, June 13, 2026.
Usman assured the parents that killers of the student, David Solomon, would face the full wrath of the law.

Usman added that the suspects were arrested by the university’s internal security team within two hours of the incident.
“They were subsequently handed over to law enforcement agencies for further investigation and prosecution,” he stated.
The VC said the university management has been working closely with security agencies to ensure a thorough investigation and to identify all persons involved in the incident directly or indirectly.
Usman described the incident as painful and unacceptable, saying it had thrown the university community into mourning.

Usman also emphasised the institution’s zero-tolerance policy towards cultism, violence, criminality and other forms of anti-social behaviour capable of endangering lives on campus.
He added that the university management had intensified surveillance and strengthened existing security measures within and around the campus to prevent a recurrence.
The vice-chancellor said additional security reforms would be unveiled in the coming days to further enhance the institution’s security architecture.
Responding, the father of the deceased, Solomon Idachaba, appreciated the university management for the condolence visit and lauded the swift arrest of the suspects.
He thanked the management for its commitment to ensuring that justice is served.
