One person has been confirmed dead, while seven others were injured after a trailer rammed into a campaign procession of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ede, Osun State.
It was gathered that the incident occurred in the Oke Gada area of Ede during a campaign walk organised for the APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
It was learnt that the driver of the trailer claimed the vehicle suffered brake failure.
An eyewitness disclosed that the trailer veered off its course and ploughed into the party procession, adding that injured victims were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The Director of Media and Information of the APC in Osun State, Kola Olabisi, confirmed the incident, noting that full details were yet to reach the party secretariat.
Olabisi added that the APC had dispatched a team to ascertain the actual cause of the accident and would provide further information upon conclusion of its findings.
The Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Osun State Command, Agnes Ogungbemi, said the command had yet to receive any official report on the incident.
