The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has announced that Nigeria’s headline inflation rate dropped to 15.91 per cent in June 2026.

The NBS, in its latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) report released on Wednesday, July 15, said the headline inflation rate dropped from 15.93 per cent recorded in May 2026.

The bureau stated that on a month-on-month basis, the headline inflation rate in June was 1.66 per cent, which was 0.09 per cent lower than the 1.75 per cent recorded in May 2026.

It added that the food inflation rate in June was 17.52 per cent on a year-on-year basis.

“On a month-on-month basis, the food inflation rate in June 2026 was 3.75%, up by 0.77% points from May 2026 (2.98%),” the NBS said.
