Premier League champions Arsenal have agreed a £75 million fee with Newcastle for the club’s captain Bruno Guimaraes.
Guimaraes, who has been given permission to travel for a medical, told Newcastle bosses earlier this summer that he wanted to join Arsenal if a suitable offer arrived.
Arsenal’s opening bid was rejected, but the 28-year-old midfielder now looks set to join the Premier League champions.

The Brazil international who joined Newcastle in 2022 from Lyon for £40 million, has made 195 appearances for the Magpies, scoring 31 goals.
Although Newcastle had hoped to keep Guimaraes, whose contract runs for another two years with an option for a third, the £75 million deal would take the club’s total income from player sales this summer to more than £240 million.
Anthony Gordon joined Barcelona in a £69.3 million deal, while Tottenham signed Sandro Tonali for £100 million.
