Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the ex-depot prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, and Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), commonly known as diesel, in its latest price adjustment.
The new prices, which take effect from Thursday, August 6, see the ex-depot price of petrol drop by ₦50 per litre from ₦1,215 to ₦1,165, while diesel has been reduced by ₦80 per litre from ₦1,650 to ₦1,570 per litre.
The refinery said the price review is part of its efforts to make refined petroleum products more affordable for Nigerians while ensuring a stable supply to the domestic market.
According to the company, the reduction reflects gains from improved operational efficiency and aligns with its commitment to supporting economic activities through competitive fuel pricing.
Dangote Refinery added that it would continue to leverage its production capacity to improve access to high-quality petroleum products and reduce pressure on the country’s fuel supply chain.
The company noted that, as Africa’s largest refinery, it remains focused on strengthening Nigeria’s energy security, reducing dependence on imported refined products, and contributing to economic growth.
It also pledged to continue passing on the benefits of improved operational efficiencies to consumers whenever market conditions permit.
