Osun State Governor and Accord Party governorship candidate, Ademola Adeleke, has expressed confidence that he will win Saturday’s governorship election, while calling for a peaceful voting process.
Adeleke spoke shortly after casting his ballot at Sagba Agbogunde Ward 2, Unit 9, in Ede North Local Government Area.
The governor arrived at the polling unit around 8:32 a.m. and was accredited by the Presiding Officer at about 8:35 a.m. before voting.
Adeleke urged residents to come out in large numbers to exercise their franchise and protect their votes through the voting, counting and collation processes.
He said the election provided Osun residents an opportunity to decide who would govern the state for the next four years.
The governor also appealed to voters and political stakeholders to remain peaceful and law-abiding, while urging voters to stay at their polling units and monitor the process in line with the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Adeleke expressed optimism that the election would be peaceful, credible and reflect the will of Osun voters.
