The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the upload of results from Saturday’s Osun State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV).

Checks on the portal as of 4:03 p.m. showed that 402 polling unit results had been uploaded out of the 3,763 expected results, representing 10.68 per cent.

The latest upload was recorded at 4:03:10 p.m. from polling unit 29/02/04/006, as collation continued across the state’s 30 local government areas.

The development comes after concerns over the pace of result uploads, with voters, political parties and observers monitoring the IReV portal for updates.

Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party is seeking re-election against the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate Najeem Salaam and other contenders.

INEC introduced the IReV platform to promote transparency by allowing members of the public to view polling unit results electronically as they are uploaded.

The portal’s Result Stats section continued to update as fresh results were received, with users able to refresh the page for the latest figures.

As of press time, only a fraction of the expected polling unit results had been uploaded, with further updates expected as collation progresses across the state.
