The Independent National Electoral Commission has uploaded 3,502 polling unit results from Saturday’s Osun State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal, IReV.
The figure, recorded as of 9pm on Saturday, represents 93.1 per cent of the 3,763 expected results.
The election was largely peaceful across the state, although there were isolated reports of vote trading involving some of the political parties participating in the poll.
The contest has effectively narrowed to two leading candidates — Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party and the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
African Democratic Congress candidate, Najeem Salaam, is trailing the two leading contenders based on results uploaded so far.
INEC was expected to complete the upload of the remaining results as more results were being received and collated across the state.
The commission is expected to formally declare the winner after the completion of the collation process.
