Arsenal kicked off the new season in emphatic fashion with a commanding 3-0 victory over Manchester City to win the Community Shield on Sunday.

Arsenal made a dream start, taking the lead less than 30 seconds into the contest through Riccardo Calafiori, whose early strike stunned Enzo Maresca’s side.

The Gunners doubled their advantage in the 28th minute when Kai Havertz bundled the ball home after Christos Tzolis headed the ball into his path following another incisive attacking move.

Mikel Arteta’s men continued to dominate after the break and sealed the victory in the 48th minute. Martin Odegaard displayed remarkable composure to calmly finish from yet another assist by Tzolis, making it 3-0 and putting the result beyond doubt.

The convincing triumph handed Arsenal the first silverware of the season while underlining their credentials ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

Tzolis was instrumental throughout the match, providing two assists and playing a key role in the Gunners’ attacking display.

City struggled to respond after conceding the early goal and were unable to break down Arsenal’s disciplined defence as the Gunners comfortably secured the Community Shield.
