President Bola Tinubu on Thursday received Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja for a closed-door meeting.
Adeleke arrived at the Villa around 5:25pm in a navy-blue traditional outfit and was accompanied by National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
The meeting marks Adeleke’s first visit to the Presidential Villa since his re-election in the August 15 Osun governorship election.
Tinubu had earlier congratulated Adeleke by telephone following his victory, describing the outcome as an assurance that democracy would continue to thrive in Nigeria.
The President also urged the governor to unite the people of Osun State irrespective of their political affiliations.
Adeleke defeated the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, in the election to secure another term in office.
Also seen at the Villa were members of Adeleke’s team, including the Director-General of his campaign council, Senator Lere Oyewumi; council member, Sunday Bisi; the governor’s Chief of Staff, Akinleye Kazeem; and Bamidele Salam, member of the House of Representatives representing Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency.
The purpose and details of the meeting were not immediately disclosed.
