The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to produce socialite Afolabi Kazeem Micheal, popularly known as KC Luxury, in court after he spent 14 days in the agency’s custody without being formally charged.

The order was issued following an ex parte application filed by Afolabi through his counsel, A. Labi-Lawal, SAN, under the Fundamental Rights (Enforcement Procedure) Rules 2009.

The application challenged the continued detention of the socialite without a formal charge or arraignment.

The court consequently directed the NDLEA to bring Afolabi before it to address the circumstances surrounding his continued detention.

The development comes amid growing scrutiny of the circumstances of his arrest and detention by the anti-narcotics agency.
