The 2027 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Adeola, has pledged to run an issue-based campaign focused on policies and projects that affect residents.

Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, made the pledge on Thursday during the inauguration of the APC Campaign Council at the June 12 Cultural Centre in Abeokuta.

He said his campaign would provide voters with information on issues that could improve their lives rather than engage in what he described as frivolous matters capable of damaging the image of the state.

“As we begin our campaign, I promise that our people will have information on issues and projects that will better lives, and not frivolous issues that will taint or damage the good image of our dear state,” Adeola said.

He urged members of the campaign council to work together towards securing victory for the APC in the 2027 elections.

The senator also expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu, Governor Dapo Abiodun, the Grand Patron of the Ogun APC, Olusegun Osoba, and former governors of the state for their roles in the reconciliation efforts that preceded his emergence as the party’s consensus governorship candidate.

Adeola said he would not take the confidence placed in him by the party for granted and promised to support what he described as the APC’s governance agenda in the state.

“I want to assure you that the confidence reposed in me to fly the flag of our great party will not be taken for granted and that our people will continue to benefit from the good governance our party is delivering under the renowned Hope Agenda and the ‘Ise Ya’ mantra,” he said.

The inauguration was attended by the Ogun APC Chairman, Yemi Sanusi, alongside other party leaders and supporters.
