The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 32-year-old man, Mohammed Manfred Abdulramah, for allegedly posing as a military officer.
Abdulramah, a native of Okene, Kogi State, was arrested along the Auchi–Okene Expressway on September 16, 2026.
The command’s spokesperson, Eno Ikoedem, said the suspect was apprehended by personnel of the 195 Battalion, Aganebode, deployed at Okpella along the route.
Ikoedem said the suspect was travelling from Warri, Delta State, to Okene when he was stopped and found wearing military camouflage trousers and a camouflage vest.
She said preliminary investigations showed that Abdulramah was not a member of the military and allegedly obtained the uniform from a Navy officer serving in Niger State.
According to the spokesperson, further investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged impersonation and how the military clothing came into the suspect’s possession.
She added that the suspect would be prosecuted after the investigation is concluded.
