Former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege has warned of potentially deadly consequences for anyone who attempts to manipulate the 2027 general elections, declaring that electoral fraud would not be tolerated.
Omo-Agege, who is seeking the Delta Central senatorial seat under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), made the remarks while addressing a political gathering in his constituency.
“I want to make the news again. Anybody who rigs the election on that day, we will kill him! If you don’t value your life, come and rig the election,” he said.
The former lawmaker’s comments come ahead of the 2027 polls, with election security and concerns over political violence increasingly featuring in discussions around preparations for the general elections.
