Hajia Laure Mai Kunu, the abducted mother of the senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Kano Central, Abdulsalam Abdulkarim Zaura, has regained freedom.
The 70-year-old woman was kidnapped from her residence in Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano State yesterday.
It was gathered that Kunu was rescued by the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Jigawa State.

The chairman of Ungogo Local Government, Engr. Abdullahi Garba Ramat, who had earlier confirmed the abduction, said the woman was rescued in Jigawa State.
A source in the DSS office, who declined to be named, confirmed that two aged women were rescued from their abductors including Zaura’s mother and one other woman who was earlier abducted by the gunmen.
Zaura recently clinched the senatorial ticket of the APC for Kano Central in the forthcoming general election.
