The Abia State Government has confirmed that gunmen attacked an advance team working for Governor Alex Otti in Imo State.
The governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ukoha Ukoha, confirmed the incident via a statement issued on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.
Ukoha disclosed that the three-member advance team was heading to the Sam Mbakwe Airport in the early hours of Tuesday when their vehicle came under fire along the Umuowa–Ihite Expressway in Imo State.
Ukoha noted that the incident, which occurred shortly before the airport junction, left the officials shaken but unharmed.
He, however, said Otti’s convoy was not part of the movement.
