Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as sustained efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture and combat kidnapping, banditry and terrorism.

Abiodun spoke while reacting to the recent rescue of 308 abducted victims by Nigerian security forces, describing the development as evidence of improving coordination among the country’s security agencies.

The governor said the Federal Government’s investments in the operational capacity of the Armed Forces and other security agencies had contributed to strengthening intelligence coordination and inter-agency collaboration.

“At this juncture, I must acknowledge the purposeful leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose administration has placed the restoration of peace and security at the centre of Nigeria’s development agenda,” Abiodun said.

He also commended the President for approving measures aimed at improving the welfare and morale of security personnel, including the recent substantial salary increase for officers and men of the Armed Forces.

According to the governor, improved personnel welfare, modern security equipment and stronger intelligence coordination would further enhance the ability of security agencies to respond to emerging threats.

Abiodun said the recent security operations across the country, including the rescue of abducted victims, demonstrated the benefits of sustained investment and cooperation among security agencies.

He pledged that Ogun State would continue to support security agencies and strengthen collaboration aimed at protecting residents and preventing criminal elements from establishing safe havens in the state.
