Abiodun to trade unions: I’ll continue to make enterprises flourish in Ogun

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, says his administration would continue to introduce programmes and policies that would ensure individual prosperity of the people of the state.

Abiodun also said his administration would continue to leave up to its vision of providing an enabling environment for enterprises to flourish in the state.

The governor made this known when he received leaders and members of the Union of Tipper and Quarry of Nigeria, Plank Seller Association, and Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital on Friday.

Governor Abiodun, who noted that his administration in the last three and half years has embarked on the construction and reconstruction of over 400 kilometres of roads across the state, said his government has also embarked on the construction of low cost housing units across the state.

He said his administration has also begun to plant thousands of trees in the forest reserves across the state, adding that the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone situated within the Agro Cargo Airport would avail plank dealers in the state an opportunity to supply planks for furniture manufacturers that would berth in the zone.

Abiodun, while noting that his administration was also looking to strengthen the entire timber value chain from the timber to the plant and furniture production, disclosed that the plank dealers in the state would be contracted to supply planks for the housing units being constructed in the state.

The governor, who also assured the associations of more support, stressed that his administration at the executive council level would look at other issues raised by them.

While calling on members of the associations to get their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), Governor Abiodun urged them to vote for the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the 2023 general election.

In their remarks, the state chairmen of associations thanked the governor for making the business environment in the state conducive for them, adding that they were in support of his second term ambition.
