Adeboye’s son deletes post calling RCCG pastors ‘goats’

Pastor Leke Adeboye, the son and Senior Personal Assistant of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has deleted a post in which he called some pastors of the church, who preached after his father’s sermon on Sunday, ‘goats’.

Daddy GO, as he is fondly called, had delivered a sermon to the RCCG congregations across the country on Sunday as every first Sunday of every month is designed as Thanksgiving Sunday and parishes were linked up with the Nationwide Headquarters of the church.

Pastor Adeboye, in a sermon expected to be the only sermon for the first Sunday of the month, said he has not endorsed Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for President ahead of the 2023 general election.

The RCCG General Overseer stressed that he does not support any presidential aspirant ahead of next year’s general election.

The revered cleric added God has not told him whether the 2023 general election will hold yet.

Adeboye told the congregation that God spoke to him about the 2019 general election more than a year to the election but He has not spoken to him about the 2023 polls.

He further expressed displeasure at the spate of insecurity and oil theft in the country.

It was learnt that some RCCG pastors violated the church’s rule by preaching in their parishes after the General Overseer’s sermon.

Furious at the development, Leke Adeboye, who took to his Instagram page, described the pastors as goats.

Adeboye wrote: “Why would you go and preach another sermon after Daddy GO had just finished speaking and preaching. You are not a son, you are a goat sir.

“Next Thanksgiving service, just do altar call, then Thanksgiving.”

However, a check by The Star on Wednesday showed the son of the RCCG General Overseer has since deleted the post from his Instagram page.

Leke Adeboye’s statement was greeted with wide condemnation with many calling for his suspension by the church.
