Adeleke reaffirms commitment to PDP, denies defection rumour

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has dismissed speculations that he plans to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying he remains firmly committed to his party.

Speaking yesterday in Abuja after the inaugural meeting of the Accommodation Sub-Committee for the forthcoming PDP National Convention, where he serves as Deputy Chairman of the Convention Organising Committee, Adeleke said he has no intention—now or in the future—of joining the APC.

He expressed confidence that the PDP would emerge stronger from its current internal challenges, describing them as normal family issues being addressed through dialogue.

“PDP believes in proper organisation and in doing things according to the rule of law.

“We have successfully conducted many conventions in the past, and this one will be even more successful,” the governor said.

He added, “By God’s grace, PDP will continue to grow from strength to strength.

“We are meeting and resolving our issues internally.

“It’s a family affair, and we don’t need outsiders to add sugar, pepper, or salt to it. We know how to manage our affairs.”
