The Super Eagles of Nigeria ended their Group C campaign at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on an impressive note, defeating Uganda 3–1 at the Complexe Sportif de Fes in Morocco on Tuesday.

Paul Onuachu put the Super Eagles ahead in the 28th minute, reacting quickest to a low delivery from Fisayo Dele-Bashiru to reward Nigeria’s early dominance.

The Super Eagles controlled proceedings in the first half, keeping Uganda under sustained pressure.

After the interval, Nigeria tightened their grip on the game. Raphael Onyedika doubled the lead in the 62nd minute, calmly finishing after being teed up by Samuel Chukwueze.

The midfielder struck again moments later, rifling home from outside the area following another incisive Chukwueze assist.

Uganda, who were reduced to 10 men, pulled one back in the 75th minute when Mato lobbed Francis Uzoho, but the goal proved only a consolation.

The victory ensured Nigeria finished top of Group C with a perfect nine points, while Uganda bowed out of the tournament after ending the group stage at the bottom.
