The Super Eagles of Nigeria have secured their place in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after a commanding 4–0 victory over Mozambique in their Round of 16 tie played in Fès, Morocco.
Nigeria, unbeaten through the group stage, took control of the match early.
Ademola Lookman opened the scoring in the 20th minute, and just five minutes later Victor Osimhen doubled the lead to put the Eagles firmly in charge.
After halftime, the attacking duo combined again with Lookman setting up Osimhen for Nigeria’s third goal shortly after the break.
Akor Adams then wrapped up the scoring in the 75th minute to complete a comprehensive win for the West Africans.
The win keeps Nigeria’s title ambitions alive as they chase a fourth AFCON crown.
They will now face the winner of the Algeria vs DR Congo last-16 match in the quarterfinals.
Mozambique, making their first appearance at the knockout stages of the tournament, struggled to contain the Nigerian attack, marking a tough end to their historic run.
