Again, troops foil Boko Haram attack, kill 23 terrorists

The troops of the Nigerian Army have again foiled another attack in the Katarko area of Yobe State, neutralising 23 Boko Haram insurgents.

The Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, 402 Special Forces Brigade, Lieutenant Bashir Abdulmumin, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday, October 23, 2025.

Abdulmumin noted that the attack was repelled by the troops of 198 Special Forces Battalion, deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Katarko under Sector 2 Joint Task Force (North East) Hadin Kai in the early hours of Wednesday.

Abdulmumin said the terrorists, at about 3:05 a.m., attempted to infiltrate Katarko using highly sophisticated weapons.

He stated that the troops, displaying superior firepower, tactical resilience, and dogged determination, overwhelmed the terrorists and inflicted heavy casualties on the insurgents.
