An Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Don Awunah, has been confirmed dead.
Awunah, a Benue-born police officer, was said to have died in the early hours of Monday.
The demise of the late AIG was confirmed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi.

A source, however, disclosed that Awunah died on Monday morning after a brief illness at a private hospital in Abuja, where he was receiving treatment.
The source added that the late AIG’s burial arrangements would be announced in due course.
