The Nigerian Air Force has sought the support of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, for the accelerated training of its pilots to obtain Commercial Pilot Licenses (CPL), enabling them to operate both military and civil aircraft.
The request was made during a working visit on Friday to the Rector of NCAT, Dr. Sanjuma Ismaila, by a delegation led by Air Vice Marshal Olayinka Oyesola, Commander of the Presidential Air Fleet.
According to a statement by Dr. Jude Amadi, NCAT’s Director of Public Relations, AVM Oyesola commended NCAT for its longstanding collaborative relationship with the Air Force and emphasized that CPL training would further enhance their partnership.
In his remarks, Dr. Ismaila reaffirmed NCAT’s commitment to building human capacity and advancing professionalism in both civil and military aviation sectors.
He encouraged more military pilots to consider post-retirement opportunities in civil aviation, including CPL training and aviation management.
Highlighting NCAT’s global reputation as a top-tier aviation training institution, Dr. Ismaila urged the Air Force to leverage the college’s resources to further strengthen its operational capabilities.
