Air Peace plane skids off runway at Port Harcourt airport

An Air Peace aircraft from Lagos to Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, veered slightly off the runway after landing at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Sunday morning.

It was gathered that the Air Peace plane exited the runway without significant deviation or technical damage.

Air Peace confirmed the incident via a statement issued by the airline’s spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, on Sunday, July 13, 2025.

Efe stated that the plane experienced a “runway excursion” shortly after touchdown.

The incident, however, resulted in no casualties or damage.

“All passengers disembarked safely and calmly. No injuries were reported,” he said, reassuring the public of the airline’s continued commitment to the highest standards of operational safety.

The airline’s spokesman did not disclose the cause of the incident but affirmed that necessary investigations would be conducted.
