Former First Lady Aisha Buhari has visited former Vice-President and African Democratic Congress presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar in Abuja.
Atiku disclosed the meeting in a post on X on Wednesday, describing Aisha’s visit as “warm and deeply appreciated.”
Although neither party disclosed the purpose of the visit or details of their discussions, the meeting comes amid political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Atiku used the occasion to highlight the rising cost of food, transportation, education, healthcare and other basic necessities, saying the welfare and dignity of Nigerians should remain a priority.
“Nigerians deserve an economy that rewards hard work, restores opportunity and allows every family to live with dignity and hope,” he said.
He added that Nigeria needed to become a country that works for its citizens, saying, “We must ease the burden, restore hope and make Nigeria Affordable Again.”
Aisha was accompanied by one of her daughters and some associates during the visit.
