Alaafin of Oyo’s wife, Olori Kafayat, is dead

Olori Kafayat, one of the wives of late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, is dead.

It was gathered that the wife of the late revered Yoruba monarch gave up the ghost on Friday night.

This is coming barely two months after the death of Oba Adeyemi.

Olori Kafayat, who was the fourth Olori of the late traditional ruler, was the mother of Prince Adebayo Adeyemi, who is the chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Pensions Board.

Details of her death, however, remain sketchy as of the time of filing this report.

The Star recalls that Oba Adeyemi died on April 22, 2022, at Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

The late monarch joined his ancestors at the age of 83.
