Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has met with President Bola Tinubu at the latter’s residence in the Ikoyi area of the state.
Sanwo-Olu met with Tinubu alongside the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), the highest decision-making body of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, on Sunday, June 8, 2025.
The meeting comes amidst rumours of a rift between the president and the governor.
The feud was said to have been over the controversial removal of Mudashiru Obasa as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly. Obasa was impeached by the lawmakers before he was reinstated after Tinubu’s intervention.

Earlier in June, social media went ablaze when Tinubu snubbed Sanwo-Olu during the inauguration of the completed phase 1 of the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway.
The governor was also absent on Thursday when Tinubu officially started the reconstruction of a major road project in the Epe area of Lagos.
However, the Sunday meeting between Sanwo-Olu and the president seemed to debunk the rift between the two leaders.
Others in attendance at the meeting included the deputy governor of Lagos State, Dr Femi Hamzat; Obasa and his deputy, Mojisola Meranda; and the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; among others.
