Anambra election: Soludo coasts to victory, leads with 323,219 votes margin

The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the governorship election in Anambra State, Governor Chukwuma Soludo, has obtained the highest number of votes from 21 Local Government Areas of the state.

According to results from 21 LGAs announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday morning, Soludo had polled 422,664 votes ahead of his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who had 99,445 votes, leaving a margin of 323,219 votes.

Young Progressives Party (YPP) is in a distant third with 33,652 votes; Labour Party (LP) followed with 10,505 votes; African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 8,317 votes; while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) garnered 1,401 votes.

Anambra election: Soludo leading with over 290k as INEC announces results in 19LGAs

According to INEC, 2,802,790 registered voters were eligible to participate in the gubernatorial election, including 140,370 newly registered voters across 326 wards.

The election was held in 5,718 polling units, as two of the expected 5,720 had no registered voters.

Candidates vying for the governorship seat with Soludo include Ukachukwu of APC, Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), George Moghalu of the Labour Party, and Jude Ezenwafor of the PDP.
