Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are holding a strategic closed-door meeting in Kebbi State, with 18 first-term governors participating in the gathering.
The meeting is taking place at the Kebbi State Government House in Birnin Kebbi and is being hosted by Governor Nasir Idris.
Although the agenda has not been made public, the governors are expected to deliberate on governance and party-related matters.
Members of the press are stationed at the Government House awaiting the outcome of the meeting and an official briefing from the participants.
Governors from Sokoto, Kaduna, Jigawa, Plateau, Delta, Ekiti, Taraba, Ondo, Ebonyi, Akwa Ibom, Edo, Benue, Kogi and Enugu are among those attending, while their counterparts from Cross River, Niger and Katsina states were unable to attend and sent their apologies.
