The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed reports suggesting a shift in its timetable for the 2027 general election primaries, insisting that the previously announced dates remain intact.
The clarification was issued in a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, and released on the APC’s official communication platform on Wednesday night.
According to the party, the House of Representatives primary election will hold on Friday, May 15, 2026, while the Senate primary is scheduled for Monday, May 18, 2026.
It added that the State House of Assembly primary election is fixed for Wednesday, May 20, 2026, followed by the governorship primary on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
The APC further confirmed that its presidential primary election will take place on Saturday, May 23, 2026, as earlier announced.
The party described circulating reports of a change in dates as false and misleading, urging members and the general public to disregard them.
“This clarification has become necessary following the circulation of false and misleading reports on social media and other communication platforms suggesting otherwise,” the statement read.
The APC reaffirmed its commitment to a clear and orderly electoral process ahead of the 2027 general elections.
